While some groups claim to have educational programs - their product is nothing more than singing songs and answering questions in an attempt to promote their band. Because the members of INPULSE are classically-trained singers of the highest caliber who genuinely care about the future and quality of a cappella music, they take great pride in offering the finest Educational Outreach Program around! They "talk the talk" as educators, and "walk the walk" as performers.

Education is part of our Mission:

INPULSE endeavors to advance the art of a cappella vocal music through the education of young singers. INPULSE strives to make students aware of the joy of singing by using proven classical techniques, while making it fun and comfortable to sing in any style. The band visits schools throughout the country, featuring an innovative educational outreach clinic for students of all ages and levels to learn the art of a cappella music through hands-on experience. INPULSE believes that music and the arts are critical to the integrity of our society and shaping the artists and leaders of tomorrow. The group strives to tap into the creative energy of young people in an informative, imaginative, and inspirational way to encourage them to always be involved in music. The ensemble is fully trained to initiate these responsibilities, having received the finest musical instruction from St. Olaf College and Concordia Colleges in Minnesota, and Belmont University in Nashville, TN.

INPULSE has visited over 500 communities in 39 states, and worked with nearly 250,000 students during its life as an ensemble and is excited to continue expanding its Educational Outreach Program to include: Music Camps, Community Workshops and an upcoming Educational DVD set. INPULSE believes every student has the right to a well-rounded music education that includes a variety of musical learning opportunities. We also know that teachers need partners who can help reinforce what they are teaching their students. Therefore, INPULSE is committed working with educators to form long-term, genuinely collaborative relationships with schools that are dedicated to the arts.

The 3 "R's" - Reasons you should bring InPulse to YOUR school

 1. Recruit– No other a cappella band in the world can connect with students the way InPulse can. The group’s diversity and broad range of music will get ALL students excited to explore the possibilities that lie in vocal music. InPulse receives praise everywhere they go for their connection to students and their ability to make singing look extremely cool. Programs everywhere have experienced increased enrollments in music classes - too many to pass it as coincidence.

2. Reenergize – We have all felt it from time to time – a rut where we just can’t get our students to take ownership and do more on their own. InPulse has been called “the booster shot every vocal music program needs” and our program is geared to challenge your students to go beyond the page and the rehearsal room to make music from within and hold themselves and each other accountable for their music.

3. Reinforce – It is one thing to make singing look cool, and completely another to understand what is going on physically when you sing. Once the band has engaged the respect and attention of your students, their message of classical training and technique will push your students to another level of excellence, by demonstrating the core techniques which you teach them every day.

The INPULSE Educational Outreach Program is endorsed by the Minnesota State Arts Board, members of the Minnesota Music Educators Association, the Heartland Vocal Camp, the International Music Camp, The Target Corporation, the Ohio - American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), the Colorado Vocal Jazz Society, Showchoir Camps of America, the St. Olaf College Department of Music, and numerous schools and communities across the country.
